Bird Flue Update

An update on our position with regard to taking in birds during the January 2025 Avian Influenza outbreak.

As an outbreak of the highly pathogenic H5N1 Avian Influenza has been found in captive birds near Braunton North Devon, we must now suspend ALL bird admissions to the rescue regardless of being checked by a vet.

When you bring an animal to the rescue we ask that you remain in your car and do not look round at any of the outside enclosures, please call us when you arrive at the rescue and we will come out and meet you from the car, to restrict the footfall to the rescue.

Whilst we have all the biosecurity in place we would still like to keep footfall to a minimum.

Thank you for your understanding in this matter
