Feral and rescue

Cats

About our work with feral and rescue cats and our list of cats available for adoption.

Cats

Here at The Littlest Wildlife Hotel we also deal with feral cats.

This means that we operate a TNR (Trap, Neuter and Release) programme with feral cat colonies, we can relocate the cats to new farm environments. We allow pregnant feral and stray cats to give birth in a safe environment and socialise the kittens which allow them to be rehomed into pet homes. As soon as the mothers are ready for their kittens to be separated from them they are spayed and they are then sent back to where they came from or to a new location ensuring that they have a set up ready for them to understand and get used to the new routine of feeding.

We have also taken in and rehomed street cats from Crete who have suffered abuse or neglect and have had cat flu resulting in the loss of their eyes. These cats have been rehomed to families who understand their needs, although the cats themselves are still very self sufficient, they need an indoor home which can allow them to explore and act like normal cats safely.

We always provide a very honest description of the cats in our care who are ready for rehoming, outlining their quirks, needs and characteristics so that you can be sure that the cat matches your family properly before coming to meet them.

Home checks are performed before the cat or kitten comes to live with you. Cats and kittens will come with a full vet check, flea’d and wormed. Adult cats will be neutered and microchipped, and kittens can be neutered prior to being rehomed if suitable for the kitten. It will be your responsibility to vaccinate your cat, the period between the first and second vaccination will allow the cat to settle into your home before being allowed to go outside and know where their home is. If the kitten is too small to be neutered when it is rehomed to you, it will be your responsibility to have the cat neutered and provide proof to the rescue.
